Rooted: Gorge Stories of Community, Creativity, and Innovation
What’s the best story you can tell about life in the Gorge in five minutes? Find out on Thursday, November 8th, when nonprofit Livable Hood River presents an evening of storytelling with a diverse array of area residents.
The third annual “Rooted: Gorge stories of community, creativity and innovation” features the captivating stories of residents’ unique experiences of living in the Columbia River Gorge.
The catch is that each speaker has only a few minutes to weave a tale.
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND KID-FRIENDLY*!!! Storytellers include musician and songwriter Matt Farmer, who has brought his talent to Greenneck Daredevils, The Van Rontens and The Shed Shakers; beloved local artist Mark Nilsson; and Emily Reed, Gorge Happiness Month organizer.
The fun kicks off at the Columbia Gorge Center for the Arts with a no-host bar at 6:30 p.m.
Storytellers take the stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Doug Stepina, lead singer of the Antonyms, as emcee.
Sponsored by Insitu, the event is free and open to the public.
SEE YOU THERE! WE CAN’T WAIT! (*There have been some occasional swear words in previous years’ stories, so keep that in mind.*)
This event has always been free, and your donations at the door have been greatly appreciated. Any amount, from $1 to $1000 helps our volunteers to continue fighting for residential issues and to put on great neighborhood events like this! ———
