GLIDER DAY AT WAAAM
On Second Saturday October 13, the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum will have several of its antique gliders out soaring for visitors to see and enjoy. Come learn all about the local gliding community and what makes Hood River such an awesome place to go flying.
A not-to-miss flying exhibit on this day is one of WAAAM’s World War II training gliders. WAAAM’s training gliders were recently invited to attend the largest aviation gathering in the U.S. to help celebrate a little-known part of WWII and even won two awards for quality restoration. They are all back on display at the museum.
