A Global Champion Plants Roots in Bingen
The Surf Mill will serve as the West Coast headquarters
for Goya Windsurfing, KT, and Quatro—
led by world champion windsurfer Francisco Goya
and his Gorge teammates Tyson Poor, Marki Beck, and Jason Diffin.More than just a workspace, the Surf Mill is about connection—
with our team, the local community, and the wider wind and watersport world.
What the Space Will Be
-
A B2B showroom and base for Goya Windsurfing, KT, and Quatro
-
A place for the team to gather, build, and work on what’s next
Why the Gorge? Why Bingen? Why Windsurfing?
We’ve been coming to the Gorge since we were kids. Finally having a place
for the team and our partners to connect and work from has been a dream. When the Surf Mill building became available, we fell in love with its location and 100-year-old-growth timber, rough framing, and a history you can feel. Throughout the renovation, people from town kept stopping by with big smiles and kind words, grateful to see the building being preserved. That community energy is a big part of what inspired us.
Why Bingen?
We love small towns. They give you time to breathe, space to connect, and easy access to the outdoors. Why the Washington side?
The Gorge delivers some of the best and most consistent wind and swell in the world, ideal for our sports. Our favorite spots, The Wall, The Hatchery, Stevenson, and Bingen itself, are all on this side of the river.
Windsurfing as a Way of Life
For Francisco, windsurfing has always been more than just a sport. It’s about freedom,
connection to the environment, and ourselves.“Diversity adds value to a community. You meet people from all over the world, learning through cultures, accents, and shared experiences.”
