For the second year in a row, the Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association is presenting an afternoon of intimate, lyrical and captivating music for small ensembles. All the participants are members of the CGOA Sinfonietta and are performing selections that range from the Renaissance through the 20th century.
On the program are the CGOA brass dectet, a large brass ensemble, the Hood River String Quartet, a piano trio and the quartet plus soprano voice. The varied concert will include music by Gabrieli, Vivaldi, Schubert, Villa Lobos, and Arvo Pärt, the contemporary Estonian composer.
Tickets are available at the door or in advance through gorgeorchestra.org.
The Chamber Music Concert is one of two January performances. On January 25 and 27, the Jazz Collective Big Band will be joined by four local school jazz ensembles for a salute to the timeless music of Duke Ellington.
