DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free\, informational workshop covering native plant landscape design.  Topics will include information about different plant types and communities\, benefits of landscaping with native plants\, plant selection considerations\, design concepts\, where to source native plants\, and more.  A hands-on design exercise will give participants an opportunity to gather feedback on planting ideas and layouts\nSpecial guest Melissa Elliott will discuss design concepts and lead a hands-on design exercise. Melissa holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon and is a licensed landscape contractor in Oregon and Washington.  She has designed\, built and maintained over 200 acres of organic\, pollinator-friendly gardens and landscapes in the Columbia River Gorge\, Portland/Vancouver Metro area and on the Pacific Coast in her 25 year career. She is the owner of Melissa Bees\, trade name of Melissa Elliott Landscape Design and Construction\, L.L.C.\n\nAll those interested in learning more about designing an urban or rural landscape with native plants are welcome to attend.
